Poults in the Living Room

That is a picture of the turkey poults at about four or five days old, in a rabbit cage, being reared with love and assistance from a two year old, a five year old, the accompanying parents, and a well-rounded education from Mike Rowe on Dirty Jobs (notice the television).
The mama turkey hen just couldn’t keep track of the four babies, and so rather than lose them to predation, we brought them inside, where they will stay for at least another week or two.
They are Standard Bronze crossed with Lilac turkey poults, who won’t reach maturity for about nine to eleven months.
