Woolly No More.

Our lovely sheep, Violet the colored Romney and Noelle the Border Leicester, met our shearer today, for an afternoon “beauty appointment.” They were sheared and had their hooves trimmed at the same time. It would be like a day at the beauty parlor for you or me, except that Violet had about eight inches of beautiful charcoal grey wool all over her obviously “very pregnant” body.

What a wonderful insulator, and shapely figure concealer.  She was the sheep that we were unsure about whether she was pregnant by “Puddle”  the ram or not — and after her shearing, we are very pleased to say that she is definately pregnant, although I believe that Noelle will lamb before next week is too far along, if not sooner.

When the ladies were finished being sheared, we took them back into the maternity pen, to prepare for their next life changes…

These two are both lovely sheep, and will be wonderful mothers. We can’t wait!
