Conway Farmers Market opens June 2 CONWAY –
Opening day for the Conway Farmers Market will be June 2 and the market will continue through Oct. 6. The market takes place in front of the Field Memorial Library on Route 116 in the center of Conway. Market hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. throughout the season. Market vendors agreed to change the market day to Thursday in response to a request from library staff to ease parking concerns of its patrons. The library is not open on Thursdays. “Both the library and the farmers market are important community assets, and we want to make it easy for residents to access both,” said market manager Peter Freisem, of Conway. Several new vendors will include Atherton Farm, offering fresh vegetables and starter plants in season, as well as Diane Welch with cakes, breads and pastries. Returning vendors include Wells Tavern Farm, Graves Firewood, Boyden Brothers Sugarhouse and Cricket Hill Jams. Market vendors offer a wide variety of locally grown and made products. The market has its own page on Facebook where special market announcements will be posted. The page is available at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Conway-Farmers-Market/370662043816. More information is available from market manager Freisem at 369-4651 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
