Saturday & Sunday Farmer’s Markets in Charlemont

In General Farm News on July 1, 2011 at 1:20 pm

Quick invitation to take a scenic drive our Route 2, the Mohawk Trail, and visit the Charlemont Federated Church on Saturday between ten and two for the Charlemont Farmer’s market. At the market last week, you missed our meats (pork, chicken, hamburgers, veal cutlets), and other vendors with lamb, veggies, and other delectables. Independence day grilling meats abound this week at the market, so don’t miss it!

And for a single-day, special change of pace, you could enjoy a (free) Mohawk Trail Concerts performance just a bit farther West from the Federated Church, and pick up local farmer’s produce and meat for continuing your celebration!  Independence Day Free Family Celebration Concert outdoors – on Sunday July 3rd at 2:00 pm, to take place on the riverbank by Charlemont’s Long Bridge and Route 8A. Musicians will be on the land, audience can also be there or on the water in kayaks, tubes, boats etc. WINDS O’ER THE WATER will be for about an hour with music performed by a wind quintet ( flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon)  playing mostly American music and/or music related to the water including selections from Handel’s Water music, Gershwin tunes, music by Sousa, and some shanties.

It’ll be a great American Celebration — with YOU there!
